Senior Actuary – PBR 257 views

AXA US has a long history in protection products and they are the backbone of the insurance business. To support Financial Protection business area, AXA has an immediate need for a Actuarial Manager. The Manager will be part of the Core Modeling Team (CMT) and will participate in financial & risk analysis and reporting for the new Principles Based Reserving (PBR) reporting and reserving requirements. The Financial Protection business is repricing the existing portfolio for 17 CSO and PBR. There will be a number of products to be brought into the new framework over the next year for both Variable Interest Sensitive and Traditional Products. In addition, the company is responsible for improved and rigorous model controls. The position will be responsible for:
Enhancing our current modeling capabilities to include Principles Based Reporting (PBR)
Bringing a new portfolio of products under the PBR umbrella as they are rolled out in 2019
Assist with implementing, quantifying and reviewing assumption changes and model updates
Identify and implement reporting/model improvements to increase department efficiency
Assist with analysis, review and reporting of our exposure to Life Insurance and Financial Risks
Participate in the Model area transformation/modernization project, which will include significant improvements to the liability models as well as the processes that feed the models and summarize model results

The role will also have the responsibility of assuring model control standards within the Life Core Modeling Team. Assuring that standards are met for:
Inadvertent Change Testing
Model Owner Reviews
Prioritization of the Model Findings Inventory
Establishing Estimated Financial Impacts

4+ years of actuarial experience

ASA designation (FSA preferred)
Liability expertise or asset-liability modeling experience, especially regarding Life insurance
Exposure to leading actuarial projection systems
Desire to learn, take on responsibility, and assume ownership of various projects
Capacity to work across groups/departments
Ability to handle deadline-oriented work; highly motivated; strong verbal and written communication skills
