Biomedical Engineers II for Chicago, IL location. Participate on team to outline project requirements needed to commission newly designed electronics and mechatronics equipment and experimental systems by collaborating with scientific and engineering staff. Assist with the development of clinical and ergonomic design constraints for advanced electronics and mechatronics equipment, using knowledge of digital signal processing, biological signal acquisition and analysis, calibration of biomedical sensors, systems integration, microcontrollers, and real-time, online, digital signal processing and analysis for upper limb force measurement and high-gain electromyography signals, through working with engineers, prosthetists and therapists. Take lead in coordinating project tasks and anticipating next actions. Manage small projects (scope, timeline). Accurately estimate time to complete major tasks and projects that are mostly autonomous. Work with out-source vendors to acquire custom-made components and ensure appropriate design specifications and tolerances in fabricated prototypes. Train staff in using sensor and data acquisition equipment. Technical Environment: ProE, MatLab, Altium, firmware applications, system and firmware integration, embedded systems for microcontrollers, C/C++, OOP, C#, RTOS, Python, Spike2, PIC-C, Arduino, Arduino-IDE, Eagle, Solidworks, machine tools, control systems.
