Protective Life Corporation, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, is a life insurance company founded in 1907; with subsidiaries that provide financial services through the production, distribution and administration of a diverse array of insurance and investment products.
Description
This person will join a team of actuaries and analysts in our life pricing unit that provides financial and actuarial analysis to Protective’s Life and Annuity Division. This position will interact with other teams, assisting in new product development from initiation to market launch as well as the periodic re-pricing of existing products. Specific duties include supporting feasibility study, product design, pricing assumption and model development, state filings, and creation and maintenance of supporting documentation.

Job duties include:
Support the development of innovative and marketable life products in accordance with the company’s financial goals and risk appetite
Modeling and analysis of product pricing projections and associated risks
Effectively communicate pricing results to managers and leadership
Collaborate with competitive intelligence to identify and analyze risks and opportunities
Create and maintain high quality documentation, including documentation needed for senior governance committees, the compliance department, and systems team
Complete ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics and/or related major
Associate of the Society of Actuaries
3+ years of actuarial work experience, with pricing experience preferred
Experience with life products
Strong spreadsheet and technical skills
Experience with pricing/projection software (MG-ALFA preferred)
